Poetry

Though young no more...

What is it about words that pour out at a rythym and rhyme now and then that makes them sound so much more powerful? I don't know. When I was a kid I read all the Dr. Seuss books in the library. Then I didn't have anything to do with poetry until a young adult and discovered that there's some pretty good stuff out there. Maybe going through life's difficulties and difficult victories makes poetry more appreciable. Here are some poems I like and some I wrote. Do like I do. If you read a few lines and it isn't grasping you, drop it. No need to suffer through it, unless you're in school and have to. For example, normally when I get to a line in a poem, and they start throwing out names of all those Greek guys, I move on.
