[sic]
This is used to indicate when a word is intentionally misspelled*, or to
indicate (when quoting) that someone else made a an error**.
*For example: "...the FCC reunion world tore [sic]"; my guess is that
this author was denoting some laceration associated with the band's set.
**For example: "...I didn't inhale [sic]" would indicate that the
writer is pointing out something is wrong with the sentence, and is
confirming that it isn't a typo (usually it is a grammatical error that
the writer is drawing attention to).

I've always said that the toggle switch virtuosity and the spinning
piano paved the way for legitimate techniques like Julian Bream's use of
the eggbeater on nylon strings. This brings us full circle since most
instruments were originally food-gathering weapons (the E-bow for
instance).

Yes, but can our brains recognise michief or irony as distinct from serious polemicism? That's why I invented the new "Email Wink". Just download the software and it will not only distinguish attempted humor from attempted epistemological instruction, but it will also render complex analysis including the determination of which English verbs are "cool" or "not cool". This proprietary AI program will not only delineate categories, it will "wink" when it detects that a category is being discussed in a way which would suggest an attempt at humor (the sensitivity can be adjusted so that very subtle winks are noted, or adjusted so that only extreme over the top gags are highlighted, and every gradient in between).
